To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many cases of (a) tuberculosis, (b) dysentery and (c) viral hepatitis were reported in (i) Southampton and (ii) Hampshire for each year since 1983.

(c) technical degrees, (d) who are qualified accountants and (e) have post-graduate qualifications in management.

The information is shown in the table.These figures exclude people seconded into the Department, which includes a number of experienced accountants and national health service managers. We do not collate centrally information on the numbers of staff who have post-graduate qualifications in management, but all members of staff in these grades attend in-house and external management courses, some of which lead to formal qualifications.The percentages in this table relate to all staff in the grade, not just those with recorded qualifications.and training requirements of and be registered as medical laboratory technicians under the Professions Supplementary to Medicine Act (1960).
