To ask the Secretary of State for Health when she expects to make regulations under sections 8(2), (3) and (10)(1) of the Access to Health Records Act 1990; and if she will make a statement.

There are no immediate plans to make such regulations. Any complaint that a hospital has not complied with the Act can be dealt with under the existing hospital complaints procedures. In all cases, complaints can be taken direct to the courts. We will, however, continue to keep the need for regulations under review.
