To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will publish the total amount of support given by his Department to (a) London Transport and (b) Network SouthEast for each year from 1982–83 to 1992–93, estimated, distinguishing between current and capital expenditure.

In addition to investment funded from Government support, both industries can also fund investment from their own resources. The figures for Network SouthEast show Public Service Obligation Grant to Network SouthEast from its creation in 1987–88. Due to accounting changes, no directly comparable figures for capital/current split are available before 1991–92.
