To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement on the consultation process he will apply during the six-week period following receipt of recommendations from the Local Government Boundary Commission for Scotland.

On submission of its report the commission notifies interested parties, by way of public notice and by letter to all those who participated in the review, that there is a further six-week period during which written representations may be made to my right hon. Friend.
