To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what information he has on the range of charges made by local authorities in Scotland for copies of registers requested by the public under the public access to information provisions of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.

[holding answer 18 May 1993]: This information is not held centrally. It is a matter for local authorities to set reasonable charges for providing copies of information under the terms of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
