To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will publish figures showing (a) total unemployment rates, (b) unemployment rates among males and (c) unemployment rates among females according to ethnic origin in Wales, indicating the rates of unemployment for (i) whites, (ii) West Indians/Guyanese, (iii) Indians, (iv) Pakistani/Bangladeshi people, (v) African people and (vi) all other ethnic origins.

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many people have been out of work in Wales, in each of the counties of Wales and each of the constituencies of Wales for (a) five years, (b) four years, (c) three years, (d) two years, (e) one year and (f) six months; and if he will make a statement.

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what was the change in the level of unemployment between (a) February 1983 and February 1993 and (b) February 1984 and February 1993; and when he expects to make a statement on the new assisted area status map of Wales.
Between February 1983 and February 1993, unemployment in Wales, adjusted for seasonal factors and discontinuities, fell by 19,900 to 132,100 a drop of 13·1 per cent. The decrease between February 1984 and February 1993 was 24,900, a drop of 15·9 per cent.I hope to be able to announce the outcome of the assisted areas review as soon as possible.
