To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many (a) maintained schools and (b) controlled schools are excluded from benefiting from "making Belfast work" expenditure in Belfast.

Within the area of the Belfast education and library board, eight maintained schools and 25 controlled schools are excluded as they are outside the "making Belfast work" initiative catchment area.

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how much has been spent in each of the last three years by the "making Belfast work" programme on educational projects in Belfast.

A total of £4·434 million was spent in 1990–91, £5·323 million in 1991–92 and £6·405 million in 1992–93.
