To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is his policy on the establishment of a national forensic adolescent psychiatric service.

I have been asked to reply.Services for mentally disordered adolescents are currently provided by a number of agencies including the national health service, social services, the youth treatment service and the independent sector. The recent Department of Health/Home Office review of services for mentally disordered offenders—Cm 2088—included those relating to children and adolescents.
