To ask the Secretary of State for Health if she will list all the names of public appointments that she has made within the Mersey region, giving in each case the body to which the appointment was made, the position held, the relevant qualifications of each appointee and the remuneration that each currently receives.

The names of public appointments made by the Secretary of State to national health service authorities and trusts within the Mersey region are as listed. Information on appointees' qualifications is not available centrally. Individuals are appointed to NHS authorities and trusts for the personal qualities, knowledge and skills that they bring to the post. I refer the hon. Member to the reply I gave the hon. Member for Worsley (Mr. Lewis) on 5 May at column 91 for the present remuneration rates.
