To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what representations and reports he has received during the past 12 months on the efficiency of criminal courts in Scotland.

Opening the Scottish Grand Committee debate on crime on 25 March, my right hon. Friend announced that he had just received the first report of the groups which have been reviewing court programming under the chairmanship of Sheriff Principal Gordon Nicholson QC and Sheriff Graham Cox. The report will be published shortly for consultation on its recommendations. Copies of the report will be made available to Scottish Members of Parliament.
