False Passports

To ask the Secretary of State ror the Home Department (1) how many false passports have been confiscated by immigration officers in each year from 1978;(2) how many people have been arrested for trying to enter or leave the United Kingdom on a false passport in each year since 1987.

The information is not available in the form requested. The numbers of forged and improperly held travel documents detected by the Immigration Service at ports and airports in the United Kingdom since October 1988 are as follows:
