Biodiversity Conference

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what contribution Her Majesty's Government made to the conference on biodiversity convened by the United Nations environment programme at Trondheim in Norway on 24 to 27 May.

The United Kingdom participated in three of the five expert panels on biodiversity whose reports were presented at the Trondheim conference. The Government were represented at the conference by an official from my Department, and a number of technical experts from the United Kingdom also attended.
