To ask the Secretary of State for Health if she will list the latest estimates by the Registrar General of Populations of those aged 17 years and over, plus 63 per cent. of those aged 16 years, for each district council area and parliamentary constituency in England and Wales, together in each case with the equivalent year's electoral registration figures, also expressed as a percentage of these population estimates.

The Office of Population Census and Surveys expect to publish a set of final mid-1991 population estimates, taking account of the later 1991 census results, towards the end of this month. Updated estimates relating to mid-1992 will be published in October. I will arrange for comparisons between 1992 electorates and final mid-1991 estimates, and later between 1993 electorates and mid-1992 estimates, for local authority areas in England and Wales to be placed in the Library as soon as possible. No population estimates are currently available for parliamentary constituencies. However, census data for parliamentary constituencies, which will include population counts, will be available later this year.
