Special Therapy Facilities

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what additional resources she plans to provide to health authorities to meet their statutory responsibilities to provide special facilities for (a) speech therapy, (b) physiotherapy and (c) occupational therapy; and what representations she has received on the level of funding currently provided.

Health authorities and general practitioner fund holders are responsible for purchasing speech therapy, physiotherapy and occupational therapy services to meet the needs of their residents in the light of their judgment of priorities and within the resources available to them.
