To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what contribution is made (a) per capita and (b) in total to the budget of the European Community by (i) the United Kingdom and (ii) France; and if he will make a statement.

The gross contributions to the 1993 European Community Budget by the United Kingdom and France are estimated to be as follows, taking account of the arrangements for abating the United Kingdom's contribution:
