To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what progress has been made on his Department's review of electoral law and procedures; and if he will make a statement.

The five working groups which are looking at different aspects of the electoral process are expected to report their findings during the summer. When they have done so, representatives of the political parties, returning officers and the local authority associations will be invited to discuss the reports at a meeting in the autumn.
