To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what representations Her Majesty's Government have made to the Government of the People's Republic of China on the deaths of Bishop Liu Difen and Liu Mangping.

We are disturbed about reports of the deaths of the two bishops mentioned and are seeking to establish the facts. We regularly raise human rights, including the persecution of religious believers, with the Chinese authorities.
