To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security how many of the cases of social security investigation in Lancashire in each year since 1989 resulted in identifying overpayments; and what was the total amount of these overpayments in each of those years.

I understand from Mr. Michael Bichard, the chief executive of the Benefits Agency, that the information is not readily available and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
