To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will visit Paisley, South constituency to assess the need for further investment in housing associations.

The assessment of individual investment proposals by housing associations is a matter for Scottish Homes and private lenders. In total Scottish Homes allocation of funds to housing association projects throughout Scotland will be about £260 million in 1993–94, a record sum. The hon. Member may wish to pursue his particular constituency interests with Scottish Homes.
