To ask the Secretary of State for Health what assessment she has made of (a) the management, (b) the present financial position and (c) the care provided by the Doncaster Healthcare Trust; what representations she has received about the trust; and if she will make a statement.

National health service trusts are monitored by the NHS management executive. The board of Doncaster Healthcare NHS trust is due to publish its first annual report and accounts and hold its annual public meeting by 30 September 1993. The board anticipates that the annual accounts will demonstrate a satisfactory financial outcome in 1992–93. The specification and monitoring of the quality of care are primarily matters for purchasers.Three hon. Members have made representations on matters relating to Doncaster Healthcare NHS trust.
