Mr. David Young
(Bolton, South-East)
On behalf of my constituents and the people of Bolton, I wish to present a petition opposing the extension of taxation, particularly in respect of the extension of VAT to heating bills—attacks on the health of the elderly—and to student fees —attacks on learning and the quality of life.
"Wherefore your petitioners pray that this honourable House will do everything possible to prevent this increase in indirect taxation which particularly affects the old, the young and the poor of our country.
And your petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray, etc."
To lie upon the Table.
