Mr. Tony Banks
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence which (a) Cabinet Ministers and (b) others are entitled to use aircraft from the Queen's Flight.
Mr. Hanley
Subject to the approval of Her Majesty the Queen, and the availability of aircraft, the following are entitled to use aircraft of the Queen's Flight when travelling on official business.
- Members of the Royal Family
- The Prime Minister
- The Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs
- The Chancellor of the Exchequer
- The Home Secretary
- The Secretary of State for Defence
- The Secretary of State for Scotland
- The Secretary of State for Wales
- The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland
- The Minister of State for the Armed Forces
- The Minister of State for Defence Procurement
- The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Defence
- Chief of the Defence Staff
- Chief of the Naval Staff
- Chief of the General Staff
- Chief of the Air Staff
- General Officer Commanding London district
- Visiting Heads of State and foreign dignitaries of equivalent status to the above.
- Members of the Privy Council travelling to attend meetings of the Council outside London.
