All TEC training programmes are focused on obtaining employment through improved skills and qualifications. Trainees are provided with job search advice and support and TEC training providers maintain close contact with local employers. In addition the Employment Service provides a range of advisory and guidance services through its network of local offices. The latest information available for 1992–93 indicates that following their period of training with TECs, 3,466 adult trainees and 5,309 youth trainees in Wales secured employment or progressed into further education or training.
