To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what consideration the Lord Advocate has given to the bringing of charges against the (a) master and (b) owner of the MV Braer in respect of the stranding of the vessel and events leading up to the stranding of the vessel on Shetland on 5 January; and if he will make a statement.

Crown counsel have considered an interim report from the procurator fiscal. They expect to receive a further report in due course.
