To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what representations he has received on the provision of encrypted radios for Gloucestershire constabulary; and if he will make a statement.

We have had discussions with Gloucestershire constabulary regarding the use of encrypted radios by police forces. They were advised of the recommendations by the Association of Chief Police Officers on this matter, which the Home Office endorses.
