To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, pursuant to his answer of 16 July, Official Report, column 707, with whom his Department sought agreement prior to the removal of the commercially sensitive information to which he refers; what is the scope of the points that require clarification with the Radioactive Waste Management Advisory Committee; what timetable he has set for RWMAC to report on the further work; what was the date of the RWMAC press release to which he refers; and if he will place a copy of the press release in the Library.

British Nuclear Fuels agreed the information that was commercially sensitive in RWMAC's report on waste substitution. The further work for RWMAC will relate to the use of the toxic potential index and the waste management implications of waste substitution. I expect to receive further advice from RWMAC later this year. Copies of RWMAC's press release of 28 June have been placed in the Library.
