To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, pursuant to his answer of 4 July, Official Report, columns 113–14, at what place the local training courses for officials from Government departments in East Timor were conducted; and who was engaged to carry out the training. [holding answer 13 July 1995]: The training took place in Dili. It was carried out by a team of Indonesian officials from departments which were concerned with land use planning, and a member of a provincial university. A UK trainer from the Natural Resources Institute supported the team.
