To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if competitive tendering in the accounting, auditing and consulting professions is a policy aim of the Government in relation to charities and voluntary organisations in receipt of statutory funding. [35048]

The Home Office looks to the voluntary sector organisations which it funds to have in place effective arrangements for all the services it requires, including accounting, audit and consultancy services. It is for the organisation concerned to decide whether it is appropriate to proceed by way of competitive tendering in obtaining these services.
