To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is the ratio of police officers to civilian support staff in (a) each police force in England and i(b) overall in England. [34302]

The ratio of police officers to civilian support staff in each police force in England as at 31 March 1995 is set out in the table. Overall in England the ratio is 2.2:1.
