To ask the President of the Board of Trade if he will list separately, by each office of his Department, the numbers and grades of casuals, fixed appointments and vacancies in the Coventry travel-to-work area. [33779]

The only DTI staff working in the Coventry travel-to-work area are to be based at Coventry business link which opened in May 1995. The permanent staff transferring to work on 24 July will be the higher executive officer, one executive officer and one administrative officer. The remaining administrative assistant post was advertised to Government Departments in the Coventry area but could not be filled. Arrangements are in hand for this remaining vacancy to be filled by a casual appointment.
