To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department if he will publish the latest figures on his Department's full-cost recovery programme in the civil courts. [35739]

The question concerns a specific operational matter on which the chief executive of the Court Service is best placed to provide an answer and I have accordingly asked the chief executive to reply direct.

Letter from M. D. Huebner to Mr. Paul Boateng, dated 19 July 1995:

The Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department, has asked me to reply to the above Question about the full-cost recovery programme in the civil courts.
I am able to let you know that the cost recovery targets for the civil courts for each of the next three years are as follows:
  • 1995/96: £244 million
  • 1996/97: £281 million
  • 1997/98: £291 million
