To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will make a statement on the availability of special illness clinics; and if he will list the reimbursements available to general practitioners for organising special illness clinics. [35862]

Over 90 per cent. of general practitioners are running organised programmes of chronic disease management of £365 for patients with asthma or diabetes. Participating GPs receive an annual payment for setting up and overseeing a practice programme for either disease.
