To ask the President of the Board of Trade what were the total costs involved in producing the Monopolies and Mergers Commission reports on (a) Stagecoach Holdings plc and Mainline Partnership Ltd., (b) Stagecoach Holdings plc and SB Holdings Ltd., (c) North East of England Buses Monopoly and (d) Stagecoach Holdings plc and Ayrshire Bus Owners (A1 Service Ltd.). [35366]

The estimated total costs in producing each of these reports is:

  • (a) Stagecoach Holdings plc and Mainline Partnership Ltd.: £194,000
  • (b) Stagecoach Holdings plc and SB Holdings Ltd.: £185,000
  • (c) Monopoly report on bus services in North East England: £646,000
    • In the case of Stagecoach Holdings plc and Ayrshire Bus Owners (Al Services Ltd.), this inquiry is still under way so it is not possible to provide an estimated total final cost.
