To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will estimate the cost to United Kingdom public funds of administration of the CAP; and if he will make a statement. [35131]

Information on the cost of administration of the CAP within the UK is contained in the departmental reports of the Ministry and Intervention Board, Cm 2803, and those of the Scottish Office, Welsh Office and Northern Ireland Office, copies of which are available in the House. An overall position for the Ministry and the Intervention Board can be obtained from annexes 1 and 5 of the report. In addition, the report details the expenditure, including administration costs, for the 80 programmes which describe the Ministry's activities. Twenty-two of these programmes are directly related to the operation of agricultural schemes, including agri-environment schemes, formulated under the CAP.

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what is the latest estimate of the cost to the average United Kingdom household of the common agricultural policy. [37117]
