To ask the Secretary of State for Health what plans he has to implement in full the recommendations of the Calman report on the commissioning of cancer services in the NHS. [36626]
My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State has accepted the report's recommendations and welcomed the aim of delivering a uniformly high level of cancer care based on a network of expertise covering primary as well as secondary care. We support the development of designated specialist cancer units and centres and look to the national health service to make systematic progress in implementing this strategy.
