To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will list (a) by squadron, air base and contracted company details of the efficiency of Tornado maintenance contracts since they were first contracted out and (b) by squadron and air base details of the efficiency of Tornado maintenance in the five year period prior to contracting out. The level of contractor involvement in Tornado maintenance and rectification at squadron and air base level is minimal. RAF personnel undertake almost all of this work and there are no plans significantly to increase the level of contractorisation.
