To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment if she will publish the rules on use by further education colleges of public funds to advertise on television and radio in order to attract students to enrol. [36169]

Further education colleges may use public funds for anything which is within their powers. There are no specific rules or restrictions on the use of public funds by colleges for advertising. Any advertisements for colleges would be subject to the same rules as apply to all other advertisements under the Independent Television Commission code.
