To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment how many persons unemployed for over (a) one year and (b) two years were placed in employment by the Employment Service agency in 1994–95. [38526]

In Great Britain during the financial year 1994–95 the Employment Service placed into jobs 556,600 people who had been claimant unemployed for six months or more. This represents an increase of 20 per cent. over the previous year. This is the extent of, the readily available information.
