To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland, pursuant to his answer of 22 November 1995, Official Report, column 162, what consideration he has given to representations that the scope, extent and nature of the surveys by the Marine Laboratory into dumped munitions and chemicals should be extended; and if he will make a statement. The need for and scope of any further survey will be decided once the full results of the recent Marine Laboratory survey of the Beaufort's dyke area are available.
