To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment what factors led her to put the business start-up scheme into the single regeneration budget. [10414]

The introduction of the single regeneration budget gave local partnerships greater scope to determine the right mix of measures to support the development of their local economies. As helping unemployed people to set up their own business is an important element in regeneration, the business start-up scheme was incorporated into the single regeneration budget.
