To ask the Secretary of State for Defence (1) if the replacement vessels for HMS Fearless and HMS Intrepid will be constructed at the same time; and if he will make a statement; [36951](2) how many months the construction of the replacements for

(a) HMS Fearless and (b) HMS Intrepid are planned to take; and if he will make a statement. [36953]

A final decision has yet to be announced concerning the replacements for HMS Fearless and HMS Intrepid. A construction programme is dependent upon an order being placed.

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what assessments he has made of the cost of preparing HMS Intrepid to go to sea. [36952]

The cost of preparing HMS Intrepid for sea from her present material state would be some £1.5 million.
