To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment what discussions have taken place since the announcement of the Government's expenditure plans for the period 1996–97 to 1998–99 between her officials and representative bodies in respect of future funding levels for (a) schools, (b) further education and (c) universities. Ministers and officials have had a number of meetings with representative bodies to discuss the future funding of schools, further education and universities since the announcement of the Government's expenditure plans for the period 1996–97 to 1998–99.

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment what representations Minister have received since the announcement of the Government's expenditure plans for the period 1996–97 to 1998–99 on the future funding of (a) schools, (b) further education and (c) universities. [37263]

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State has received a range of representations from a number of bodies and individuals on the future funding of schools, further education and universities since the announcement of the Government's expenditure plans for the period 1996–97 to 1998–99.

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment when she expects the Government and the Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Principals working party studying the impact of (a) the private finance initiative and (b) budget cuts on higher education to report. [37411]

We expect the working groups to report in the next few weeks, subject to final discussions with the CVCP.
