To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment how many people in each region have died from occupational ill health in each of the last 10 years. [40419]

These are recorded in table 1.The number of death certificates mentioning asbestosis or the asbestos-related cancer, mesothelioma, in each of the last 10 years are broken down by region in tables 2 and 3. Figures for other occupationally related lung disease are not readily available by region.
