To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what consultations he has had with the chairman of the Llandough NHS Trust, the UHW NHS Trust and the Bro Taf health authority concerning the implementation of the conditions imposed by his predecessor concerning the closure of the Cardiff Royal Infirmary (a) generally and (b) specifically in relation to elective orthopaedic surgery. None, though my officials keep in close touch with the health authority and local trusts, who are actively working together on the action plan for the transfer of services from CRI to UHW. The business case for the transfer of services from CRI to UHW has been approved and Llandough NHS Trust is preparing a business case for the transfer of elective orthopaedics.
