To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will list the subject areas under (a) the existing Treaty provisions and (b) the proposed new Treaty provisions in respect of which it was agreed at the Amsterdam European Council that co-decision procedure should be extended. Copies of the relevant extracts from the provisional version of the draft Treaty of Amsterdam circulated by the Netherlands Presidency have been placed in the Libraries of the House. The Presidency is reviewing its contents in consultation with Member States to ensure that it accurately reflects what was agreed at Amsterdam.
