To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many payments were made under the arable area payments scheme in 1996 at (a) £0 to £1,000, (b) £1,000 to £2,000, (c) £2,000 to £3,000, (d) £3,000 to £5,000, (e) £5,000 to £10,000, (f) £10,000 to £20,000, (g) £20,000 to £40,000, (h) £40,000 to £70,000; (i) £70,000 to £100,000, (j) £100,000 to £200,000, (k) £200,000 to £300,000 and (1) over £300,000.
