On a point of order, Madam Speaker. In all my time in this place, I have never heard such rudeness when a new Member from any party has arrived at the House to take his or her seat and to do a job on behalf of his or her constituents. It is appalling to hear such barracking of a new Member of Parliament who has just taken his seat. I would be grateful if you would comment on that.

I think that the hon. Lady's point is well taken by the House and by me. I, too, have never heard such jeering when a new Member has been brought into the House. I told the hon. Member, when he took his seat, that I hoped that he would not join those who have made such noise today.
