To ask the Secretary of State for Health what proposals he has to make health care more accessible in rural areas. [16531]

The Government are committed to improving quality and fairness in National Health Service care, replacing the internal market and ensuring that a greater proportion of every pound spent goes on patient services not bureaucracy. This applies equally to rural areas as it does to other parts of the country.
