To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will estimate the total real level of his Department's planned expenditure on health in 1995–96 prices in (a) 1997–98 and (b) 1998–99; and what such figures were for (i) 1997–98 and (ii) 1998–99, following the November 1996 Budget on the basis of the estimates of the GDP deflator contained in that Budget. The figures requested for expenditure on health within the Control Total are as follows: (a) £4,160.9 million, (b) 4,222.5 million, (i) 4,184.4 million and (ii) 4,194.6 million.
