To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if she will make a statement on recent trends in the solvency of private pension funds. [17228]

There is no universally accepted benchmark for measuring the solvency of private pension funds. Actuaries use a number of valuation methods and assumptions when advising trustees about the funding level of their pension schemes.
